Who this guide is for

Section actions
  • You if you need glasses and want a free option
  • You if you have CSS or a mutual and want to use 100% Health
  • You if you want to understand the rest at zero charge

To be prepared in advance

Section actions
  • Ordinance of an ophthalmologist (5 years or ≤ 3 years for children)
  • Vital card and mutual card
  • An optician participating in 100% Health (most)

Step-by-step procedure

Section actions
  1. 1Get a prescription from an ophthalmologist (or from a doctor in the absence of a doctor). Without a prescription, no support.
  2. 2Present at the optician with prescription, Vital card and mutual card. Say you want a "100% Health" model (Class A).
  3. 3The optician offers a choice in the "100% Health basket": frames (at least 17 models), glasses (depending on correction). These models are WITHOUT charge – you pay nothing.
  4. 4The optician is reimbursed directly by the CPAM and the mutual fund. If you want a premium mount or high-end progressives – you pay the difference (class B).
  5. 5Renewal: glasses reimbursed annually (children) or every 2 years (adults), in case of change of correction or breakage.
  6. 6Mutual/CSS: CSS automatically gives 100% Health. Private mutual — check the contract (100% Health since 2020).
  7. 7Hearing and dental apparatus: also 100% Health — choice of models of the basket, without any rest. For dental purposes — crowns, prostheses.
  8. 8Keep invoice/vis — for the guarantee and in case of evolution.

Common mistakes

Section actions
  • Do not ask for "100% Health" — optician can offer a paid model.
  • Believing free glasses of poor quality. The 100% Health models are suitable.
  • Do not have a valid order — no support.
  • Exceeding the frequency of renewal—CPAM does not reimburse before term.
  • Do not check compliance 100% Health of mutual.
