Who this guide is for
Section actions
- Motorists in ZFE (Lyon, Grenoble, etc.)
- Those who regularly enter the ZFE
- Foreigners/new arrivals discovering the Crit-Air device
To be prepared in advance
Section actions
- Grey card (data required to order)
Step-by-step procedure
Section actions
- 1Order the Crit的Air sticker on the official website certificate-air.gouv.fr (fee but inexpensive; the grey card is required).
- 2Avoid unofficial intermediate sites — they collect an excessive fee for the same service.
- 3Put the sticker on the windscreen (bottom right corner) — without it in ZFE, fine.
- 4Find out more about the existence of a ZFE in your city and the Criterion Air classes allowed according to the days (rules vary and harden).
- 5Check restrictions in case of peak pollution / pollution alert and air quality forecast before rolling, especially in summer.
- 6If your vehicle does not meet ZFE requirements — prefer public transport or carpooling to enter the area.
Common mistakes
Section actions
- Roll in ZFE without thumbnail or with inappropriate class — fine
- Order the thumbnail on unofficial sites (additional cost)
- Ignore the class of your vehicle and drive on prohibited days
