Step-by-step procedure
Section actions
- 1Check vaccination status: Health diary, via the treating doctor or MesVaccins.fr app (free digital storage).
- 2Mandatory for children (11 from 2018): DTP, pertussis, BCG (risk areas), hepatitis B, Hib, pneumococcal, meningococcal C, measles-rubella- mumps (RRO). Without them — no admission to school/community.
- 3For adults: DTP recalls to 25, 45, 65 years, then all 10 years; annual flu (≥ 65 years, pregnant women, chronic diseases); VOCID-19 as recommended; zona (≥ 65); HPV (up to 19–26 years).
- 4Take the vaccines to the treating doctor, nurse (with a prescription), pharmacist (flu and a few others), in a municipal vaccination centre (free of charge).
- 5Reimbursement: mandatory and recommended vaccines reimbursed by CPAM (65–100 % depending on the vaccine), the mutual covers the rest. Influenza for at-risk groups is often free.
- 6Report in the Health Book and MesVaccins.fr — useful digital confirmation for the steps.
- 7For travel: make the vaccines according to the country of destination (yellow fever, etc.) in an international vaccination centre — fee-based consultation, certain vaccines reimbursed.
- 8For pregnancy/newborn: check for recalls (DTP, flu, VOCID-19 during pregnancy — child protection).
Common mistakes
Section actions
- Do not make DTP reminders every 20 years — tetanus risk.
- To believe that vaccines only concern children — adults too.
- Do not use MyVaccins — difficult to reconstruct history.
- Neglect the flu in a risk group — complications.
- Do not check vaccines before a trip / pregnancy.
