Talents scholarship increases to €5,000 for the year 2026-2027

A decree and an order of the 7 September 2026 carry out the Talents Fellowship, intended for the preparation of public service competitions, 4 000 € to 5 000 € per year for the school year 2026 - 2027 , i.e. an increase in the 1 000 €. The payment remains organised in 2 times by the prefectures of the region, without steps at the expense of the student.

Who is concerned

Students enrolled in a Prepa Talents or Talents course and preparing 1 or several public service competitions: category A or B, magistrate's or military competition. These courses are open to post-graduate fellow students and job seekers; selection is made on the basis of resources and merit, on file and maintenance. The award can only be awarded once, but the prefect can exceptionally renew it for a 2nd year of training.

What to do

If you are registered in Prépa Talents or Pathways Talents, you have no steps to take to apply for the scholarship: your institution will send the list of registrants to the regional prefect. On the other hand, consider keeping and transmitting the required proofs for the second payment: a certificate of attendance at the lessons and attendance at the exams, and a certificate of attendance or transcript of notes for at least 1 of the competitions prepared. If the tests take place after the date fixed by the Prefect, a certificate of registration in the competition is sufficient; if the entries are not yet open, a certificate of the honour to register is allowed, and then a certificate of attendance must be sent after the examination has passed.

When to act

The second payment of 2 500 € comes from March, on presentation of the proofs; the deadline for transmission is set by the regional prefect. The source does not specify a separate time limit for action.

Background

The Talents plan celebrates its 5th anniversary. It is based on free graduate training, the Talent Prepas and Talents Courses, which prepare for more than 50 public service 3 competitions with a reinforced tutoring. They exist throughout the country in public service schools, universities, political institutes, CPAGs and IPAGs and engineering schools. The Talents scholarship can be combined with grants based on social criteria in higher education.

Why it's important

This €1,000 increase is an additional support for post-bac students and job seekers who are preparing a category A or B, magistrate or military competition. No steps are required: the school will send the list of students directly to the regional prefect, at the latest within one month of the start of school. On the other hand, the second payment requires the transmission of evidence within the time limits, failing which it may be suspended.
