Background
The prefecture, the prefect's place of work representing the state in the department, is usually closed to the public. On the occasion of the European Heritage Days, it exceptionally opens its historic spaces during guided tours. The event is placed under the sign of transmission and memory.
Why it's important
It is a rare opportunity to discover a generally inaccessible administrative building and learn more about the history of Isère and the prefect's missions. Access is free, but on registration, you must register in advance.
What Changes
On 19 and 20 September 2026, the Prefecture of Isère exceptionally opened its doors to the public as part of the 43rd edition of the European Heritage Days.
